Omnium -Flying Lap

Annette Edmondson (Australia) posted the fastest time in the opening event of the Omnium. 2011 World Champion Tara Whitten (AUS) was 6th fastest. Laura Trott (GBR) and Sarah Hammer (USA) are well positioned in 2nd and 4th place respectively.

Annette Edmondson (Australia) is feeling very relaxed about posting the fastest time in the opening event of the Omnium. "I am feeling really positive. To win one of the timed events is a really big bonus because everyone puts in 100%. We have all exerted the same amount of energy. It really is just a number , so to be sitting on top spot with the smallest number is great and I am looking forward to tonight," said Edmondson

Laura Trott (GBR) posted the second fastest time and feels good about the rest of the event. "I feel pretty good. I didn't feel good on the rollers, I am not going to lie. I am pretty confident about things now," said Trott.

"I was on such a high after yesterday and I almost felt hung over this morning. I though, wow I have to go and do it all over again. Now the first event is over I feel good now, " added Trott

Lisa Brennaeur (GER) was a little disappointed with her time in the flying lap, "I am not quite happy with my time in the flying lap. I have done better before. The Omnium is two days long so I hope to do better in the points and elimination races later," said Brennaeur

"Starting in 15th place makes it hard for me later, It is about getting the best place as possible now," added Brennauer
