Stage 1 - Teutenberg dominates bunch sprint Neerijnen, 108,2km Ina-Yoko Teutenberg (Specialized-Lululemon), won the first stage of the Brainwash holland Ladies tour, ahead of Olympic champion Marianne Vos (Rabo Women) and Giorga Bronzini (ITA). The German led the bunch into Neerijnen in a fast very compact peloton. The bunch stayed together for the first 80km before the sprinters and their teams prepared for the run into Neerijnen. There was a lot of jostling for position in the last few kilometres. Specialized-lululemon set up the train perfectly for Teutenberg with Trixi Worrack the last to lead her into the final 1km. Vos, secured the overall, thanks to the bonus seconds on the road. Vos holds a 2 second lead ahead of Teutenberg and 8 seconds ahead of Bronzini. Comments Marianne Vos (Rabo Women) expects the gap to close, "Two seconds ahead of Specialized-Lululemon Teutenberg is not much. It is important to tomorrow at least to not lose too much time. But, we ride with the team who will the World Championship team time trial for Professional teams, so it is also a serious test to see where we stand. I would like my fourth Ladies Tour win in a row and therefore especially the race against the clock for teams and the Sunday stage in Limburg important," said Vos. Ina-Yoko Teutenberg (Specialized-lululemon) was particularly excited about the team time trial "I'm not worried about the final standings, after the team time trial we already know better where we stand. But in the Netherlands you always have to be careful of course, so I'm in for a week-long battle," said Teutenberg.
