Bunde - Berge en Terblijt, 113.8km

Race Writeup

Marianne Vos (Nederland Bloeit) secured her place as the number on rider in the world right now with a decisive win on the final stage of the Holland Ladies Tour. In the ride to the line, Vos finished ahead of the 2010 World road Champion Giorgia Bronzini (ITA-Forno d'Asolo Cola Vita) and Emma Johansson (Hitec)

The first escape of the day came from Loes Gunnewijk (Nederland Bloeit), Lucinda Brand (AA Drink) and Erinne Willock (Tibco).

They managed to gain an advantage of 45 seconds that quickly went out to 1 minute 30 seconds.

After 50km of racing the peloton was in splinters with over four minutes separating the leader to the back of the final rider.

The lead started to come down with 25k to go. As the leader climbed the Berge en Terblijt, Marianne Vos (Nederland Bloeit) moved to the front to take up the chase. With Vos went van Vleuten, Wild and Longo Broghini and a leading group of 22 riders formed. Vos moved to the front the break was caught.

A lead group formed with 14 riders led by Emma Johansson (Hitec). With 10km to go, Vos attacked alone.

13 pursuers chased Vos. At 5km she had 40 sec. With 2km Vos was still away but the bunch were closing quickly. In the end however, Vos was too strong for the rest of the riders, finishing strongly 34 seconds ahead and taking the overall win again. Giorgia Bronzini was second ahead of Johansson.

Vos swept the board winning the sprint and the points jerseys. Chloe Hosking (HTC Highroad) won the young rider jersey. Nederland Bloeit won the team prize
