Stage 1 - Teutenberg sprints clear for victory

Ina-Yoko Teutenberg (HTC Highroad) made the most of her teams lead out to win the technical finish on stage 1 of the 15th edition of Trophee d'Or Feminin. Nederland Bloeit's Marianne Vos finished second ahead of the 2010 winner Emma Johansson (Hitec).

Despite a number of attempts to break up the race the leading group approached the last 1 km together. Teutenberg had the best legs and was too fast, crossing the line metres ahead of Vos and Johansson.

Teutenberg now leads overall going into the Team Time Trial start to the double stage.

Ronny Lauke (Sport Director HTC Highroad) was happy with the way the team performed, especially coming off a long break of racing, "It was an active race today," said Lauke, "There were lots of attacks from the beginning."

"The girls did a great job supporting each other and setting up Ina for the finish. Ina finished first by about thirty meters."

Ina Yoko Teutenberg (HTC Highroad) added, "It was a hard one today after our break. The finish was pretty tight and technical but I had great support from the team and it work out wonderfully."
