Edmondson dominates Austral Wheelrace Support events Melbourne, 26 Feb 2011
South Australian Annette Edmondson dominated the support events at the 113th Australian Austral Wheelrace. Fresh from her recent victories at the Australian Championships and despite huge efforts from the local Victorian riders, Laine Hammond, Shannon McCurley and Imogen Jelbart, Edmondson could not be beaten. Annette Edmondson (South Australia) was very happy with her victories on the Melbourne track. "I have been working really hard for the last 8 months to move myself from a track sprinter to an endurance rider. Winning the Omnium and Scratch race at the recent Australian National Track championships was amazing. It set me up to compete in a lot more races and to come her and win today," said Edmondson. Despite becoming Australian champion, Edmondson will not take part in the World Track Championship this year, "I don't have enough international experience but that is ok, I am going to Holland with the AIS track team this year and I will be riding the World Cups, so I will gain much more experience and hopefully qualify for the Olympics," added Edmondson.
