Stage 6 - Vos wins tough stage 6 and leads overall Gallarate - Arcisate 116km
Marianne Vos (Netherland) climbed to victory in the tough stage 6 finish into Arcisate. Judith Arndt (HTC Columbia) was just behind ahead of Olga Zabelinskaya (Safi-Pasta Zara) An early break that included the young Australian Lauren Kitchen, Gauss and Fassa Bortolo was allowed to go and gained over 2 minutes before the lead teams of HTC Columbia, Cervelo Test Team and Team Valdarno moved to the front to bring it back before the final climb of the day. A large leading group formed as riders struggled to hold onto the pace of the leading riders. Emma Pooley (Cervelo Test Team) was the first person up the climb and she moved herself into the Mountain leaders jersey. Vos attacked to the finish stretching out the chasers. Ina-Yoko Teutenberg (HTC Columbia) holds onto the points jersey Vos holds the leaders and young riders jerseys.
