Write-up

Loes Gunnewijk (Nederland Bloeit) broke away in the final lap from a small group which had formed early and gradually decreased in size during the race. On a hot, sunny day the conditions were harsh for many riders.

Gunnewijk went away in the final 14 km from team-mate, Marianne Vos (recent 2010 time trial Champion), Irene van den Broek and Lucinda Brand (both Leontien.nl). The only rider able to go with Gunnewijk was Vos, who caught her in the closing couple of kilometres. A 'team-mate's agreement' saw them approach the line, holding hands and with arms held up in a double victory salute. Vos then allowed Gunnewijk to relish the victory, the pair coasted to the line individually giving victory salutes. 

Irene van den Broek crossed the line alone, a weary third place. 

There was a bunch sprint for fourth place.
