DSB - LTO Marianne Vos looks to teamwork for success in 2009 Team DSB Bank - LTO was presented at the beginning of March. After the changes which took place over the European winter, the team has new management and riders, some via the merger with the Vrienden van het Platteland team. The squad for 2009 consists of 16 athletes, 8 from the former DSB team, 4 from Vrienden van het Platteland and 4 new arrivals. New directeur sportif is Arthur van Dongen, who joins from a men's squad
Marianne Vos remains the star attraction in the team, the double World track and cyclocross Champion will lead the team throughout 2009. She is targeting Ronde van Vlaanderen, the World Cup series and the World Championships (Mendrisio, SUI). A longer term view is also being taken with the young Dutchwoman aware of the preparations required at this stage for a successful build-up to the Olympic Games in London in 2012.
Vos will compete in fewer races in 2009, but with more focus. Teamwork will also be an important factor for success. The team recognises that teamwork has become an important aspect of the elite women's race scene. Vos will concentrate on cyclocross and road this season, wishing to show off her rainbow jersey in the latter discipline.
