500m TT- Anna Meares blasts to gold Meares, the former world record holder and silver medallist at this year's World Championships, posted a time of 33.583sec, almost a second faster than Australian Kaarle McCulloch. Sandie Clair, the petite French sprinter finished third in 34.339sec. Anna Meares (AUS) showed the rest of the world how to ride a 500m TT, another gold medal and World Cup leader's jersey made for a good day, "My legs hurt after that," said Meares. "I felt good despite the Keirin qualifying rounds and pushed hard to the line," added Meares. Kaarle McCulloch (AUS/JAYCO) was close to a personal best time in the 500m TT to win the silver medal. She was over the moon, "That was great, I am really please with my start. When I finished in Poland I knew I had to work on my start and I am so please with nearly a personal best first time out," said McCulloch. McCulloch is getting so close to going sub 34 seconds, "That is my goal this year, I want to ride a sub 34 and I think I am well on track," added McCulloch. Sandie Clair (FRA) was very tired after her 500m TT, "It has been a hard three days of racing," said Clair. "I still have the Keirin to go, so I hope to go well in that too," she added.
