Stage 2- Nicole Cooke (Vision 1) wins second stage

Amurrio - Amurrio 84 Km

Race Writeup

Nicoel Cooke (Vision1) won the second stage of the Bira tour in a mass sprint to the line ahead of Diana Zilute (SAFI-PASTA ZARA TITAN) and Julia Martisova (GAUSS RDZ ORMU-C).

It was a hot day and relatively flat stage except for the climb over the high Mendaika 2nd grade, climb. The stage was controlled initially by Bigla team, who kept the peloton together for the first three laps of the circuit round Amurrio.

The initial 3 laps Amurrio allowed the riders know the slope of the final meters to prepare for the mass sprint towards the stage victory.
