Race Writeup

A breakaway which was formed on the lower slopes of the first climb was whittled away by the pace and incline to leave just Claudia Hausler and Kristin Armstrong (Cervelo Test Team) and Trixi Worrack (Equipe Nurnberger).

They stayed away until the finish. Claudia Hausler took over the yellow jersey, but the stage win went to a very happy Trixi Worrack.

Afterwards, Hausler said she didn't need to keep the jersey until the end of the Tour de l'Aude, but that she wanted it to be worn by someone in the team.
