Stage 6 Elbeuf - Elbeuf, 24.7km, Individual Time Trial
Luise Keller (Team Columbia) moved closer to an overall win in the Route de France after the time trial. The German RR Champion, who had never been a tour leader before this week, will start the final stage 2 minutes and 19 seconds ahead of nearest rival, Rosane Kirch (Michela Fanini Record Rox). Keller went into the time trial just 51 seconds ahead of Kirch and perhaps more of a concern, only 1 minute 4 seconds ahead of third placed Edwige Pitel (Pro Team Les Carroz). The Frenchwoman is a former French time trial champion and has been in good form this week. However the potential threat did not eventuate, Pitel finished fourth, 1'21" behind Keller. Keller was in great form. She sped around the 24.7km faster than anyone else. Tatiana Antoshina (Fenixs) was second, 40 seconds back. Grace Verbeke (Lotto Belisol), who has performed well this week, finished third 1'19" behind Keller. Daiva Tuslaite (Michela Fanini) moved back into the lead in the young roder competition and opened a gap on Oxana Kozunchuk (Menikini Selle Italia), who until today had been equal on time for several days. The Lithuanian is now 56 seconds ahead of her rival.
