Stage 4 Fontaineblaeu - Argentueil, 138.5km
Lithuanian, Urte Juodvalkyte (Chirio Forno D'Asolo) won the fourth stage of the Route De France with a determined breakaway. She soloed to the win with over 3 minutes advantage ahead of the bunch. Giorgia Bronzini (Titanedi-Frezza) won the bunch sprint from Martina Corazza (Gauss RDZ). Juodvalkyte's break lasted for the final 65km of racing and reached a maximum of 4 minutes at one point. A long chase by Kathy Watt (Lot et Garrone) was thwarted when she was held up by a train passing through a level crossing along the course. The Australian was alone between the bunch and the leader for almost an hour until she was halted by the train passing through. Luise Keller (Team Columbia) retained the overall lead and goes into Stage 5 with a 51 second advantage over f Rosann Kirche [also the mountains leader]. Daiva Tuslaite stays as young rider leader. Juodvalkyte was also awarded the almost aggressive rider of the day.
