Stage 2 Lauhans - Gueugnon 116km
Martina Corazza (Guass RDZ) took victory after a hard, wet stage. She and fellow breakaway, Anke Wichmann (Team Columbia) sprinted aggressively for the honours in Gueugnon. The stage was hard, characterised by rolling roads interspersed with some really tough climbs. The action started early too, with a break forming after just a few kilometres. Once again, Elodie Touffet (Gauss RDZ) was active at the front of the bunch, but most aggressive rider of the day was Magali Le Floch (Equipe de Nord). She was in a duo breakaway with Sophie Creux (ESGL 93) and led over the second mountains competition of the day, Mont St Vincent. Le Floch now sits second in the mountains competition. Veronica Balderas (RDZ Guass) capped the day for her team by taking over hte mountains competition. Grace Verbeke (Lotto Belisol) finished in the bunch 9 seconds after Corazza and that was enough to give her the overall lead. Previous leader, Teutenberg, finished in another bunch further back and so conceded the General Classification. Daiva Tuslaite (Michela Fanini) remains the leader of the young rider competition.
