Stage 1

Dijon - Lauhans 82.5km

Race Writeup

Ina-Yoko Teutenberg (Team Columbia) defended the leader's jersey in perfect style by winning the stage. She outsprinted Giorgia Bronzini (Titanedi-Frezza) on a wet and technical finishing road.

The wet day was characterised by short-lived breakaway attempts. None of which was able to get away. Prize for combativity was awarded to Elodie Touffet (Gauss RDZ).

Post Race Comments

"It was a really nice first stage," said Ina-Yoko Teutenberg (Team Columbia)."It was flat and not too long."

"The girls did a good job of keeping on top of breaks and then did a perfect leadout into the last 500m which was pretty technical and dangerous."

"I'm happy to be able to ride another day in the yellow jersey."

"We will for sure try to keep the jersey," added Teutenberg. "We have a few cards to play in the hills so we will have to take each day as it comes to see who we ride for."
