Stage 5 Mont-St-Hilaire, 117km
Judith Arndt (High Road) turned the tables on Suzanne De Goede (Equip Nürnberger) on the final stage. The German broke away with Sarah Carrigan (Australia) on the final climb, then went solo to the finish. With time bonuses available on the finish line for the top three, Arndt, who started the day just 2 seconds down on the Dutchwoman, knew she had the overall victory when she crossed the line first and took 9 bonus seconds. Consolation for De Goede, perhaps, was to retain the sprints jersey. Felicia Gomez (Aaron's Pro) won the mountains competition and was also best over-35 rider.
Petra Rossner (High Road Directeur Sportif) "In the second last lap, the gap started coming down so we started to attack from behind. Chantal, Kate, Oenone and Kim all just kept attacking to make Nuernberger chase. They did a brilliant job," added Rossner. "It wasn't that they won. It was the way they did it that makes me proud."
