Race Writeup

A small break of six managed to get a maximum of 3 minutes 40 seconds on the figure-of-eight circuit based on Dwingeloo. They stayed away for most of the race, but Team High Road with some help from Équipe Nürnberger managed to chase them back in the final lap.

It was then up to sprinter, Ina-Yoko Teutenberg, to go to work. She outsprinted Regina Schleicher (Nurnberger) and Rochelle Gilmore (Menikini) on the tightening, slightly curving finish. After reportedly having some problems with sickness ealerlier in the week, the German was an outright winner.

“We are very happy,” said Team High Road Director Sportif Ronny Lauke. "Winning is always something special but it was especially great to see Ina have such a good race after being sick last week.”

“We have a very good feeling in the team right now,” he added. “The girls worked really hard and I hope we can have another great race on Saturday,” at the fourth round of the Women’s World Cup."

“The group wasn’t right for us so we decided to pull out of it,” explained Teutenberg, “and we waited for the right time to chase. The girls worked really hard and we caught the group with about 10km to go. I didn’t have to do anything until the finish. I’m really happy I pulled it off after all that work. It’s a great race to win.”
