World Cups and major races targeted

A new Italian team has been announced : Team Dilà Guerciotti Cogeas will compete for the first time in 2007 in the elite women's category.

The squad is a mix of Italian and other international riders, 12 in total. The former professional, Stefano Della Santa will be the directeur sportif. He has already proven himself by running women's teams in the past.

The sport management of the team, which will be based in Triangolo Lariano, is in the safe hands of Massimiliano Bonanomi and Ruben Contreras, who have a varied and proven track record in road racing on the international scene.

Riders in the squad include the experienced Spaniard, Marta Vilajosana Andreu, alongside American, Aimee Vasse. The pair line up with equally experienced European riders, such as the Danes, Maja Adamsen and Mette Fischer Andreasen. Track rider and Russian Oxana Kostenko, the Italian, Emanuela Azzini and El Salvadorian, Evelyn Garcia are also in the line up.

There are also some riders making their debut in the elite women's ranks - like the promising young Dane, Maria Helena Bornak and Alice Columbus.
