Mountain Bike Secondary School Championships

Numbers limited, demand for places high

April 14 / 15, Levin, NZ

Katherine O’Neill from Kristin School in Auckland and Ash Hough from Tauranga Boys College won the overall titles at the 2007 NZCT New Zealand Secondary School Mountain Bike Championships in Levin.

Katherine O’Neill proved consistency pays off by comfortably taking the under 19 girls overall title with first placings in the cross country and downhill and second in the hill climb. Oceania cross country champion Samara Sheppard was second overall after third placings in the cross country and downhill.

The downhill races provided the most excitement on the final day with some quick times being produced by riders in all age groups.
