Race Writeup

T-Mobile's Judith Arndt took over the race lead after winning the second stage of the Holland Ladies Tour in Leende.

The early part of the race took place in windy conditions, with rain showers. Despite some aggressive riding from the Flexpoint team, the Dutch squad was unable to create a break which 'stuck'. Their efforts were partially rewarded, Iris Slappendal gained the "most fighting spirit" jersey after Stage 2. Susanne Ljungskog was unable to finish,

With 15km to go Arndt broke away with Irene van den Broek (AA Drink Cycling Team) and Trixi Worrack (Équipe Nürnberger). The three riders stayed away from the bunch, which was within just 75m at the finish, just 10 seconds behind. Arndt won the sprint from van den Broek and Worrack and took the stage as well as the race leader's orange jersey.
