Team FRW presentation 4th February 2006, Forli, Italy Team FRW was launched for 2006 in Forli on Saturday. The team is waiting to start the road season, where it is looking forward to competing at the highest level of professional women's cyclesport. Presenting the riders were the team's manager, Patrizia Barchi, and Celestino Salami (the president of the Forli regional committee). The team's season has already begun with a victory - Giorgia Bronzini won the points race in the Track World Cup event in Los Angeles in January whilst competing for Italy. Directeur Sportif, Fausto Tardozzi is looking to Bronzini to repeat this performance on the road. After 3 stage wins in the Giro Donne in 2005 and victory in the final road World Cup of the year in Germany, Bronzini justifies her position as sprinter and Team Leader for 2006. For stage races, Team FRW will be working to support Lithuanian, Modesta Vzesniauskaite. Last year, she won stages in both the GP Carnevale di Cento, and the Giro di San Marino. She also took bronze in the European Championships in Moscow. Also in the team's plans for 2006 are Italians, Martina Armor, Kettj Manfrin, Laura Pisaneschi, Lithuanian, Indre Januleviciute and Ukrainians, Nina Ovcharenco and Tetyana Petrovna. Team FRW's season starts in Australia at the end of February with the Geelong Tour (21-23 Feb) and then the World Cup (26 Feb).
