Rs na mBan Entries invited for Irish race 9th 10th September 2006 - novices welcome From - Women's Commission of Cycling Ireland Riders
are encouraged to enter the RS NA MBAN, a women's international road race
series in Balbriggan, Co. Dublin, on 9th and 10th September 2006. Now in its
11th year, it attracts around 50-70 female riders (of all levels) each year
with teams from Germany, Holland and the UK invited to take part. Its one of
two women-only international road races in the country and wed like to see
it being well supported by home riders. This
year the format has been changed to encourage more novice riders to take
part. Race distances are short, points will be awarded to every rider who
starts a race in the series, and riders can start the next race without
finishing a previous one. The Sunday race will be a 'Divided Mass Start' so
riders will be racing in a group of their own ability. Rs
na mBan is a 2 day event with 3 races: Race
1 - 9th Road Race, 36 mile/60km (9 laps of a 4 mile circuit) Race
2 - 9th Time Trial, 1.3 mile/2km Race
3 - 10th Road Race 45 mile/72km (1 lap) If
you are training over these distances, you will be fit enough to compete in
this event it promises to be very enjoyable and a great opportunity to try
racing. In
addition to the prizes, which will be awarded for each event (1-8th place),
points will also be awarded to each rider. Those riders who enter all three
events will be included in the Overall Points General Classification. Lunch
will be provided free of charge for all riders and their support crew on
both days. Well provide any assistance we can with accommodation and
transport. Riders can enter as individuals or as part of a team. An entry form is available from: Roisin

senior rider, or €40 per Junior. Race
