Illinois State Junior Track Championship Northbrook - Ed Rudolph Velodrome 17th June 2006 On
Saturday, June 17 at the Ed Rudolph Velodrome in Northbrook, Illinois,
Chicago-based cycling team XXX Racing-AthletiCo, along with team sponsor
Yojimbo’s Garage, will present the Illinois State Juniors Track
Championships. .
The competition, scheduled to showcase top Illinois and area
states’ junior racers is open to boys and girls ten to eighteen years of
age. The
event will also serve as a tune up for the upcoming junior nationals
championships in Trexlertown, Pennsylvania and will be run in championship
format with many of the same events that young cyclists will compete in at
nationals. “XXX
Racing-AthletiCo is pleased to be able to present the return of junior state
track championships to Illinois,” said Nicole Kemerer, director of the
team’s junior development program. “The races will serve as a great benchmark for junior
nationals and we hope to see some healthy competition.” EVENT

opens at 8:30 a.m.; racing begins at 10:00 a.m. Rain
date is Sunday, June 18 2006. Entry:

the Ed Rudolph Northbrook Velodrome:
The newly resurfaced velodrome, located just north of Chicago in the
suburban Village of Northbrook. Several
fundraising efforts helped save the facility.
The velodrome attracts cyclist from multiple states.

Today, the team has grown to include a diverse group of cyclists. Members compete in the North Central region of the United States in road, track, cyclocross and mountain bike races. In addition to racers in every category of the sport, XXX Racing-AthletiCo has women’s and junior development teams. The junior development team produced a national champion and silver at the 2003 junior world championships, and is currently recognized by the USA Cycling’s development foundation as a Center of Excellence for junior cycling.
