2006 28 April - 30 April 2006 Preview and event details The
2006 Sleepwell
Hotels have once again kindly sponsored the event providing event
headquarters, Gala Prize Presentation evening with live entertainment,
bike storage and accommodation at greatly reduced costs. The Isle of Man Steam Packet are also offering special deals to competitors and their families.
The
first stage takes place on Friday evening right outside the Hotel on
Douglas Promenade in the shape of a short prologue time trial. Stage two
is a hilly road race on a
course in the Marown area, just outside The final stage takes place at the National Sports Centre for a circuit race, followed later by the gala prize presentation.
Overall
leaders will wear yellow jerseys (pink for the girls), plus
climber/points combined jerseys as well as great prizes available, it
promises to be a great social weekend for competitors and parents alike. All Juniors & Youths A, B & C will be catered for. Any Youth D riders can enter, however they will have to ride in the C event on their restricted gearing.
Parents
have plenty to do also, they can enjoy ‘local’ hospitality or relax
in Sleepwells newly refurbished Chesterhouse Hotel and discuss the
day’s racing while their children are tucked up in bed!
