Giro del Toscana
Castelfranco di Sotto, 70.2km
A fast stage, with a mountains competition climb too. Although the rain came down prior to the start, it stayed dry and warmed up during the stage. A small break managed to get free on the run back to Castelfranco, Naome Cantele (Bigla), Kim Anderson (T-Mobile) and Daniela Fusar-Poli (Safi) were away with a slight margin.
By the time they returned to the finish line a lap later, it was this three alone sprinting out the finish. Cantele took it from Fusar-Poli and Anderson.
Nicole Brändli (Bigla) retained the race lead. Suzanne De Goede (AA Drink) won the bunch sprint and retained the young rider jersey. Judith Arndt (T-Mobile) stayed in orange - best non Italian and Svetlana Bubnenkova (Colnago Fenixs) the mountains jersey.
