Race Writeup

Another hot day. The time trial took place on the course which will be covered 4 times in the afternoon on Stage 4b.

Nicole Cooke (Univega) gave a hint of things to come as she attacked the start ramp at the beginning of her stage-winning ride. She took the stage by one second from Univega team-mate, Christiane Soeder. Amber Neben (Buitenpoort-Flexpoint) was third.
