Race Writeup

Stage 3 was as wet as the preceding stages of this year's Holland Ladies Tour. There were some sunny spells during the stage, which included wide open carriageways and narrow, wooded lanes.

Josephine Groenveld (AA Drink) and Judith Helmink (@Work) made a significant break, which lasted until the closing kilometres, when the bunch reeled them back in. The pace increased as the teams vied for position, preparing the sprint for their nominated riders. Ina-Yoko Teutenberg (T-Mobile) took the honours on the line, she also took over the green points jersey. Regina Schleicher (Nürnberger) retained the race lead.

There were several crashes in the closing kilometre, which split the riders into several bunches as they crossed the line. The race Jury decided that all riders affected would be given the same time, rather than differentiate between them.
