Rosebery Carnival 50th Anniversary

Prize money increased thanks to sponsorship deal

The Rosebery Carnival organisers have announced that one of their major sponsors, Zinifex Mine Rosebery have increased the prize money for the Men’s Wheel Race and the Men’s Gift to $1500.  There will also be a special additional prize of a gold watch to the winners of the Wheel and Gift as a celebration of their 50^th Anniversary.  Negotiations are continuing with their other major sponsors and they hope for a positive outcome in order to increase prize money for other events.

Mal Williams believes that the change of date to the 23^rd of December and the increase in prize money will help attract competitors to Rosebery.  “We are thrilled that our sponsors have gotten behind us to support our 50^th anniversary.  It will help to attract competitors and be a perfect lead up to the start of the Christmas series.  We look forward to celebrating this milestone and continuing our commitment to provide an exciting carnival”.

Carnival organisers have also planned an old time dance to be held on the Saturday night after the Carnival.  It will provide a fun and entertaining night to cap off the 50^th anniversary celebrations.
