Amber Neben wins Pan American Championships TT Title

The United States Cycling Team captured a Continental Title on Tuesday as Amber Neben rode to a win in the time trial event at the Pan American Cycling Championships in Cabreuva, Brazil. Kori Seehafer earned her second medal of the week, riding to a bronze in the race against the clock.

On Sunday, Seehafer gave the U.S. its first medal of the Championships with a silver-medal performance in the 87-kilometer elite women’s road race in Indaiatuba. Seehafer finished behind Ymari Gonzalez of Cuba amongst a final group of 15 riders. Teammates Sarah Uhl and Neben finished 12th and 14th respectively.

The 2006 Pan American Cycling Championships continue with track events June 8-11 when five Americans saddle up against the Western Hemisphere ’s top cycling talent. Becky Quinn (Quakertown, Pa.) and Uhl will wear the stars and stripes for the women.
