Oenone Wood honoured Keys to the City of Canberra Double World Cup Champion and World Championship bronze medallist receives honours from her 'home town'
In a ceremony which took place last week, Oenone Wood was presented with the keys to the City of Canberra. Wood, who retained her season-long World Cup title in style in September also took bronze in the World Road Race Championships at the end of that month. She was also the top-ranked road cyclist in the World for 2005 - finishing with more points earned in events during the year than any of her rivals.The keys to the City were presented in recognition of Wood's services to cycling. Oenone Wood is a member of the Canberra Cycling Club and lives in the ACT. At the same ceremony, men's World Time Trial Champion for the third year running, Michael Rogers, was also honoured for his services to cycling. Photo : Oenone Wood
