Race Review - McFarland takes Round 2 With previous league winners Mary Mckee and Mary Boyd unable to race with sickness and injury in the early part of the season the 2005 league is wide open. On this occasion the formidable Ann McFarland (Omagh Wheelers) stepped forward to take up the mantle in the second round. McFarland, who was in New Zealand for the first round, proved just too strong and powered clear of the field to finish by herself and claim the 10 points on offer. She is focusing on the World Masters Championships this year and was delighted to take her first win in Ireland this year in the wintery conditions. Erin Turkington (Clann Eiran) also managed to break clear before the finish to take 2nd place with Mary Brennan in 3rd. Julie Mulligan (Omagh Wheelers) finished 4th and now leads the league table going into Round 3. Round 3 will be the S McGreevy Memorial race in Dromore on 23rd April.
Results - Race 2 1 Ann McFarland (Omagh) 2 Erin Turkington (Clann Eiran) 3 Mary Brennan 4 Julie Mulligan (Omagh)
