Race Review

Lucan Rider Louise Harliwich won at the Boot Inn last night (6/7/05).

This is Louise’s third win in the League.

The Women’s Commission were delighted to see a lot of new riders at the race (Including: Leva Japertaite ,Tracy Walsh, Caitriona Jennings and Aoife O’Connor).

The Handicap event saw Harliwich starting in the second group – just two minutes ahead of the Scratch group which contained three of the recent Leinster Team from the ‘Danny Boy International’,

Harliwich (L.C.R.C) and Jean O’Connor (UCD) worked hard from the gun, and soon began pulling back the third bunch on the road.

On the third of four laps – Harliwich had caught all the riders ahead (Including her Team-mates Lorna Sinclair and Pauline Macey).

Scratch Riders - Jenny Faye, Roisin Kennedy and Geraldine Meehan were chasing hard, but Harliwich held on to win a three woman sprint with Caitriona Jennings and Jean O’Connor (UCD).

Kennedy (Irish Road Club) finished close behind followed by Jenny Faye (Orwell Wheelers) and Geraldine Meehan (Lakeside Wheelers).
