race.
The TQ takes
place in Dublin each Autumn and was held in September in 2004. There is
always healthy competition, with teams from the UK and the Netherlands
joining a start sheet which includes representative teams from Ireland's
counties.
Stage 1 was
won by Helen Gutteridge with an escape which saw her beat Louise Moriarty
by 4 seconds and the bunch by 6 seconds. Unusually for this race, a mass
plie-up took out some of the contenders, inclduing Gutteridge's team-mate
Dianne Moss who damaged her ribs and was unable to continue.

Stage 3
Helen Gutteridge goes into
the TT 4 seconds ahead of Louise Moriarty. This is a gap which Moriarty
may well be able to close over Gutteridge, given Moriarty's track
experience and training. However, there are any number of other contenders
just behind, at 6 seconds.
The time trial may shake
things up, but the race will be made on Sunday's road stage.
