Yoplait Women’s Cycling Summit Conference returns to the Great River
Energy Bicycle Festival Friday, June 11, 12-3 p.m. in Bloomington,
Minnesota. Twice each year the leaders of women’s cycling gather to
further to mission of the Summit, to build women’s cycling at every
level, from the grassroots beginner to the elite pro. A core goal that came out of past Yoplait Summits was to create a Web site to that connects women cyclists to their supporters and each other. The Task Force web site www.womencyclists.com went live in January 2004. The second goal of the Yoplait Women’s Summit has been achieved with the creation of the Women’s Prestige Cycling Series. This women-only series puts the spotlight on women’s racing by giving them stage that the women don’t have to share with the men. Series events include the Redlands Bicycle Classic (March 24-28), the Nature Valley Grand Prix (June 9-13), the Tour de ‘Toona/International (July 26-Aug 1) and the Bermuda Grand Prix (Sept 23-26). Topics at the Yoplait Summit in June will include managing a national team on a small budget, giving more value to your sponsors and getting media coverage for your team (and sponsor). The Yoplait Summit launched in June 2003 at the Great River Energy Bicycle Festival in Minneapolis. It now takes place twice annually: at the Festival in June and at the Interbike trade show in October. The Third Yoplait Summit will take place on Friday, June 11, from noon to 3:00 pm at the Park Inn Suites, 7770 Johnson Av S, Bloomington, MN. |
