Women-Only Majorca
Training Camp 2005
WomensCycling.net has teamed up
with one of the most popular English-speaking Training Camp providers to
offer a women-only training camp in February 2005.
This is a truly unique offer - as far
as we know, it is the only English-speaking women's only training week in
Majorca in 2005. There are plenty of other fully-subscribed women only
training weeks on the island, if you speak German or other European
languages, but this is the only one for those from the UK and Ireland.
From Saturday 19th February until
Saturday 26th February 2005, you can join the staff from SportActiveMajorca
in the North Coast's resort of Port d'Alcudia
on a women's specific training camp week.
The aim of the week is to provide a
structured training week for female participants who are building up to the
2005 season. There will be vehicle support and guides for each day's ride,
plus the opportunity all week to quiz the Cycling Ireland qualified coaches
who provide these services for you.
There will be evening seminars and
discussions about training and racing techniques and you can even request a
personalised training plan for your return home.
Unlike other training camps, which are
run for "women and vets", this week is specifically designed for
women. The rides each day are designed to have a positive training effect -
not send you home overtired. Participants will be able to focus upon getting
fitter and improving technique, rather than fearing the possibility of
having to hang onto the wheel of a male 'vet' who wants to 'teach them a lesson'.
This exclusive week is a tremendous
opportunity for women looking to put the final touches to their preparation
for the 2005 season.
