Velodrome Roof is in place

In a report on www.UCI.ch, it has been confirmed that the track competitions at the next Olympic Games in Athens will take place underneath a roof. 

The "critical and delicate phase of transferring the impressive structure of the future roof of the Olympic velodrome" was completed successfully on Sunday March 28. The several thousand tones steel structure reached its final position and was placed by “sliding” on rails for around 135 meters. Fixing the hundreds of glass and steel plates, which will complete the roof, is the next step.
