Women's Criterium, Albert Park
Breakaway Events are organising a criterium for women on November 28th at 08:30am based at Lake Side Drive on Albert Park.
Update - November 26th.
The criterium at Albert Park are even bigger than previously advertised. Additional sponsorship has been secured - with 2 additional sponsors joining the list - HLP and Ride Wiser. As a result, organiser Marcel Lema from BreakawayEvents.com.au, told WomensCycling that the prize list is even bigger - with vouchers and donated prizes included in the list now.
There are still places available for the women's criterium, which starts the series of races at 08:30am, but be prepared to hang-on and enjoy the other categories of racing. A family atmosphere is promised, with a BBQ and jumping castle. The start / finish area will be easy to find - the TAC inflatable arch will be in place on Lakeside Drive from early Sunday morning.
(For those who don't know Melbourne, Australia), Albert Park is the destination each year for thousands of Formula 1 fans as they flock to the first F1 race of the year. For the rest of the year, Albert Park is open to the public and contains flat, well-maintained and wide roadways which lend themselves to criterium racing. Albert Park is used on a daily basis by many cyclists as a training circuit, or meeting place. It is situated near the (Port Phillip) Bay and is also close to the City Centre.
The race is sponsored by Susie Lemma Designs, a local company, which creates unique hand crafted handbags and purses. The prize list includes $350 of accessory vouchers to spend at Susie Lema Designs.
Advance entries - up until 20th November - will be $20, late entries and entries on the day will be $25.
To enter, send the details below and your entry fee to the organiser.
