Despite finishing at the head of hte bunch sprint and taking a 10 second bonus, Angela Brodtka slipped to second overall on GC when the in-stage sprint bonuses were included in the rider's overall times. 

First overall on GC going into Stage 2 was Chantal Beltman, 1 second up on Brodtka. The top 10 are seperated by just 12 seconds and there are some big-hitting names within. This is a big bunch - 120 competitors and the roads are sometimes narrow. Staying at the head of hte bunch and thereby at the top of GC takes all-day concentration, especially when the stage includes 'bonifications' for intermediate sprints. This was where Beltman took her advantage today  - winning 13 points over the next best, Sandra Missbach (5).

There are several comeptitions on the go in this event  in addition to the overall jersey - Sprints, points, Team and Young rider. Plus, there is a combined comeptitions jersey too - all adding up to the need for close attention to the state of affairs from within the peleton. Friday's stage is another evenimg stage - 100km from Middelburg to Vlissingen.
