The seventh edition of this eagerly contested Dutch event starts today in the Walcheren region of the Netherlands. Strong international competition from national and trade teams mixes with local talent to provide a start list of over100 riders. The Tour of the Walcheren region consists 4 stages in 3 days. Making the most of the long summer nights, Thursday and Friday's stages take place in the evening.

Picking out names in such a list is difficult, Dutch riders are, quite naturally, here in force. The Farm Frites and BIK Gios teams top the sheet, previous winner Mirjam Melchers rides for the former, but is not on the entry this year, whilst the latter took the Team Prize in 2003.

Dutch bank, Raboboank sponsor this event.
