Nutts Corner RR

The final round of the 8 race series was run off in fine conditions today at Nutts Corner, hosted by Pheonix CC.

Mary McKee of the host club went into the final race of the series knowing that a finish would secure her the winner's orange jersey. However the battle for second and third was very tight with Gillian Orr (XMTB) leading Hilary Thomas (Pheonix) by a single point.

The race which was run over three laps of an eight mile circuit finished in a four rider sprint for the race win with a very strong Cheryl Fisher (Pheonix) edging out Trudy Brown (Dave Kane Northern). A hard sprinting Ann McFarland took third and series winner Mary McKee coasted in just behind knowing she had done enough.
