On a day when most people went a minute or so slower than last year, local www.WomensCycling.net rider CJ Farquharson improved her time by almost 2 minutes. "It was warmer than last year, but windier. I hate the cold more than the wind, so this was the lesser of two evils", she said after the event "I've worked quite hard to improve recently, so despite having had a cold, I am pleased with this performance". A set of tri-bars and an aero helmet are now on the shopping list - Farquharson rode the event on her road racing bike (as opposed to a specialist TT bike ); in an attempt to improve aerodynamics, she did wear a skinsuit and skin-overshoes, having improved both her profile and position on the bike over the winter. The long, long road back to competitiveness continues. .....
