Elizabeth Williams - Australian Criterium Champion 2003
Elizabeth Williams took the Australian Womnen's Criterium title in this race. Outsprinting Kate Bates and Rochelle Gilmore in a sprint down the lengthy final striaght. Gilmore had 'packed' in Race 2, feeling unwell,. but managed to stay with the pace just a day later.
The Bay Classic Series remains wide open, with the top 5 seperated by just 8 points. There are 12 points available for a win, so the Series Champion remains far from decided! The top 5 is unsurprisingly stil dominated by Institute of Sport riders. In the sprints competition, Bates has a 3 point lead, having tkaen onlty 1 point in today's event. Second-placed Olivia Gollan won 6 points in Race 3 and cannot be ignored during the final 2 races.
