Race 1 - Rye
The Jayco Geelong Bay Classic is a series of 5 criteriums in the Australian state of Victoria, actually, more accurately, 5 criteriums in locations around Port Philip Bay (where Melbourne is located) in Australia.
Race 1 was dominated by the elite riders of the various Institutes of Sports. Rochelle Gilmore (New South Wales Institute of Sport) took the final sprint but Kate Bates (also New South Wales) was most consistent sprinter and takes the sprints jersey into Race 2
