Stage 2 - 84km

Australian Margeret Helmsley took stage 2, with a long, attack from over 1km from the finish line. On a hot, humid day where some of the more-recently-landed European riders struggled with the conditions, the Australians fought it out, although it must be said, Helmsley's team-mates did a good job in quelling attacks, especially in the latter parts of the stage.
