Sara Carrigan shopwed her form on Thursday with a win in the sun. Her winning speed was in excess of 40kph and gave her a 12 seconds victory over silver medal winner, Olivia Gollan. Oenone Wood was third, 5 seconds down for the bronze medal and Margaret Hemsley 4th @ 25seconds. Hemsley's bad luck continuted - she rode desipte feeling the effects of a cold, which no doubt detracted from her performance.

The rest of the field was over a minute down on the winner's time. the Bates sisters both placed in the top 10. English visitor Angela Dolan rode a standard road bike and finished in the bottom half of the field.
