Products of the Year
WomensCycling.net has tested many items throughout the year, on our travels, at races, in races and training. All of the products have been purchased and used in the same manner as anyone else would do - nothing has been received for test from suppliers or manufacturers, the items listed below are therefore considered as serious contenders for something you might like to buy for yourself.
Giro Pneumo Helmet

This must be one of the lightest and coolest (in more ways than one) helmets on the market! The fact that it is worn by so many of the top pro teams attests to its quality. It looks good and fits very well too. This helmet is exceptionally well ventilated - 19 vents according to Giro's blurb. The fit is enhanced by the Roc Loc system which allows micro adjustment of the fit via the straps which tighten round the back of the head. The pads inside the helmet are even made from Coolmax.
Mine is in WomensCycling.net orange and blue. The straps are blue - not the standard black and the buttons to work the Roc Loc are also coloured - orange. Well, okay, the helmet is actually the Rabobank special team version - in (you guessed it) orange and blue......
Other colours available - black / carbon, also white. Prices - around £90
Team colours available - USPS (red, white, blue), Cofidis (red, white) and "Lone Star" - a Lance Armstrong special (at a special price too!) Prices - around £120 (Lone Star £130)
Sizes for all helmets Small, Medium and Large
Deeside Cycles mail-ordered mine to me in just three days.
