Melbourne Cup on Wheels - Women's Events

Vodaphone Arena, Melbourne, Victoria, Australia - 30th November 2002

There were 3 women's events supporting the women's programme on Saturday night. Thanks go to organisers - Cyclists International - including Barry Langley, who coordinated entries for the event. For the first time, a womens keirin was included on the programme. The women did not disappoint - the racing was fast, furious and well supported by the spectators at the Vodaphone Arena in Melbourne. The track was used just a couple of months ago for the Junior World Championships, also organised by Cyclists International.

The women's entry was good on Saturday night, with good sized bunches for the 20 lap scratch race and the elimination (Devil) race. 6 riders also fought out the keirin at the end of the evening.
