One of the favourites for the women's Commonwealth Games road race, 

Genevieve Jeanson of Canada, has had to pull out of the team with a  knee

injury that has caused problems all year.

This leaves the race much more open with  favourite from outside this country 

Anna Millward (Wilson). Nicole Cooke, newly crowned GB RR Champion 

may provide some local interest and competition for the gold medal
